The single most frustrating thing for new, and even not so new coaches, is investing time, energy and money into learning how to become a great coach, but then having no paying clients to use those skills on.

It’s soul-sucking to have skills that you unequivocally know can benefit others, but being unable to share them.

The sad fact is, being a good, or even a great coach, is simply not enough in such a competitive industry. In fact, it’s the bare minimum because there isn’t a shortage of good coaches.

The Internet is a big place and it’s chock full of your potential clients

However, you have to know how to reach them and then how to wow them so they want to hire you.

The bad news is that there are tens of thousands of coaches out there looking to take your potential clients off you.

The good news is that 95% or probably more have no clue how to do it.

As such, all you have to do to succeed is to do the things that work that other coaches are not doing because they are too lazy to implement, or more likely, do not know about.

They spend hours researching what other coaches are charging trying to figure out what the ‘going rate’ is and not enough time working out what they need and more importantly, what value they can deliver to their clients.

Even the ones who know what they need/want usually haven’t figured out how they will get there.

No bank would ever give you a loan without you first show them a business plan detailing how you will generate revenue and repay the loan.

Your coaching practice is a business and as such, it needs a plan!

In this module you will learn:

  • How to turn more inquiries into paying clients
  • Why in most cases it’s not wise to charge clients by the month
  • The difference between cold and warm leads and why you need to know

Module 2 - Establishing a Niche

Can you be a successful coach without having a niche? Possibly. Is it much harder to succeed without a niche? Absolutely.

Choosing a niche is one of the fastest ways to stand out and make yourself competitive. However, it also creates more angst and doubts in coaches than any almost any other aspect of building their practice.

Having a great niche will allow you to have laser focussed marketing which will make blogging and using social media so much easier and ultimately exponentially more successful.

In turn that gets you known as THE person to go to for a particular target market which then allows you to charge higher fees without the risk of losing potential clients.

In this module, you’ll learn:

  • How to understand which niche is best for you
  • Why it can be a mistake choosing a niche just because you know that sector intimately
  • The serious mistake a great many coaches make during and after figuring out their niche

Module 3 - The Importance of Branding

Branding is one of the most misunderstood aspects of building a business for new coaches. They have a tendency to think that branding only applies to big corporations.

That is a long way from being true and building a solid brand can help you separate yourself from your competition who are ignorant to this crucial element of running a coaching practice.

I said above that having a niche is important, and it is. However, I flourished without a niche for many years and that was because I had a strong brand.

In this module you will learn:

  • Why a brand and a logo are not the same
  • How a brand can save you until you have your niche finely honed
  • What a ‘promise’ is when it comes to branding and why it is crucial

Module 4 - How To Maximize Your Website - Part 1

Ten years ago it was enough to just have a website. It didn’t matter what it looked like (within reason), having a site made you look like a pro.

Now, however, it’s almost worse to have a bad website than no website at all and many life coaches are losing potential clients because they don’t understand the basics.

In this first module looking at websites, I will be taking you through the Coach the Life Coach site and explaining why everything has a purpose and what that purpose is.

I’ll show you why you can have the most beautiful site in the world and it may still not bring you a single client. And why an ugly site can sometimes bring in a steady stream of inquiries.

In this module you will learn:

  • What UX and UI are and why they are so important
  • Why you should not be trying to sell coaching on your home page
  • The crucial importance of having a clear concise call to action

Modules 5 & 6 - How To Maximize Your Website - Parts 2 & 3

In these two modules, I will do an audit of the websites of the people on the course and show some simple changes that can immediately improve the likelihood of the sites generating more inquiries and thus, clients.

You may have used a professional designer and think that she knew enough to nail every aspect. But let me tell you, in over 5-years of auditing life coach websites I have never come across one that couldn’t be improved upon.

There are some skilled designers who can build beautiful sites that tick many of the boxes, but rarely do they understand all the subtle nuances of coaching. We are in an industry where a 1% edge can be the difference between succeeding and failing.

Then we will take a look at some coaching sites that crush it. There is a saying in coaching that ‘success leaves a trail’, so why and invent the wheel when there are wheels out there that you can borrow different elements from?

In this module you will learn:

  • One crucial mistake that I can almost guarantee at least one coach will be making on their site and that is super easy to fix
  • Why certain images work in attracting clients and others don’t
  • Which coaches are currently killing it with their sites, and more importantly, why?

Module 7 - The Power Of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The overwhelming majority of coaches either have no clue what SEO is, or don’t know how to implement it properly.

I have worked with over 300 coaches and not one was making the most of their SEO efforts when I started to help them.

You can take all the great information you have learned in the last 3 modules and have a great website that converts effortlessly. But if nobody can find it, all your efforts are for nothing

Because so few coaches are bothering with SEO or implementing it incorrectly using outdated techniques, you can separate yourself from them relatively quickly using what you learn in this module.

In this module you will learn:

  • Why most coaches are blogging too often and how you can achieve what you want by posting every few weeks
  • The reason you need to have a WordPress site if you’re going to succeed with SEO
  • The awesome untapped power of long and medium tail keywords

Module 8 - Implementing The Power Of SEO

Knowledge in and of itself is not that useful if you have no idea what to do with it and how to maximize it.

You will now know the theory or SEO and that alone makes you a rare breed as a coach, but we now need to execute upon that knowledge if you are going to crush your competitors (in a nice way of course) in the SERPs (search engine ranking pages)

In this module you will learn:

  • How to set a blog post up correctly so that it can then be found by prospective clients on Google
  • Why toast is awesome but Yoast may be even better
  • The process I use that has catapulted scores of my posts high into the SERPs (search engine ranking pages)

Module 9 - Crushing It With Guest Posting

If I told you that just one blog post could bring you in 50 or even 100 subscribers for your newsletters, would you be interested in hearing how?

Well it can and I built the foundation of both my coaching related businesses utilizing this approach and I can show how you to do it as well.

It can be frustrating trying to drive traffic to a new blog unless you have an unlimited budget to spend. But guest posting offers an incredible shortcut.

However, it’s not just a case of writing a post and then sending it to every blog you can lay your hands on. That flat out, will. not. work.

The popular blogs get inundated with requests and they turn most down, so y ou have to be smart about it and stand out from the crowd.

But when you do that the results are well worth it.

In this module you will learn:

  • What you need to do before you even start to write a post
  • Why most guest posts get turned down, or even worse, ignored
  • The single biggest mistake most guest posters make when they have a post accepted

Module 10 - Building Your Authority

Being a successful and in-demand coach is all about your authority.

Nobody hires a coach unless they think they have authority. It's the name of the game.

Here’s how you don’t gain authority.

Start a Facebook or Instagram account (or any social media account for that matter). Then throw up a load of motivational quotes, ask people to like or share them. Then rinse and repeat.

Here’s another way you don’t build authority.

Start a blog. Write a post telling people to think happy thoughts. Then write another one telling them to follow their dreams. And then another apologizing for not writing for so long because your cat got sick.

In this module you will learn:

  • Why you don’t necessarily need a newsletter list to build authority
  • The quickest route to looking like a genuine expert
  • A short-cut to gaining authority ignored by the vast majority of coaches

Module 11 - Alternative Methods Of Income

At least to begin with, coaching is going to be your main form of income, but it has its limitations.

You cannot coach if you are sick. You cannot coach if you’re on vacation. And you cannot coach more than a set amount of clients in any one week.

It doesn’t matter if you charge $100  (and hopefully you will be charging more than that) or $1,000 per hour it’s still nice and very advisable to have multiple streams of income.

There are few things that start the day off as well to see people have been paying you as you sleep for your products, services or whatever else.

In this module you will learn:

  • An alternative income stream that generated me $10,000 and took less than two hours to set up
  • Why the pen is mightier than the sword when it comes to supplying revenue
  • How you can earn passive income by helping other people

Module 12 - How To Convert More Inquiries Into Clients

Sales is a dirty word for many coaches. And guess what? They are often the ones who are failing.

We all sell all the time whether we are salespeople or not.

Parents have to sell to the kids the idea of doing their homework. Married people have to sell the idea of buying a new car or house to their spouse. And doctors have to sell to their patients the idea of healthy eating

And of course, there are literally millions of other examples.

So if you’re going to have to sell you may as well do something that most salespeople don’t even do - learn the basics of good selling.

It’s unlikely you will be tripping over inquiries, at least to begin with. As such, learning how to sell ethically and with consideration can exponentially increase the percentage of people who hire you.

In this module you will learn:

  • What testing intention is and why it’s crucial to the selling process
  • The reason learning how to isolate objections is crucial to your success and how it can also help you become a better coach too
  • How to overcome potential objections to hiring you without being pushy


The single most loyal people to you will be those on your newsletter

Your newsletter list subscribers are more likely to buy from you, hire you and refer you to family and friends than almost anybody else.

However, just having a list is not enough.

Loyalty is earned by offering ongoing help and support and by nurturing your list.

In this module you will learn:

  • Why the size of your list isn't the most important thing
  • The reason you should be glad when people unsubscribe
  • How to launch a product or service effectively you your subscribers


Copywriting may well be the most underestimated and/or overlooked element of any coaches website.

If you cannot write copy that clearly communicates what you have to offer your visitors, then it doesn’t matter how great, or well optimized, your website is, people will not buy from you or hire you.

Unfortunately, you need good copy for your home and about page. Similarly, you need it for any pages where you are looking to sell your services or products.

But fortunately, you don’t need to be The Bard to write effective copy. If you can write a coherent blog post, then you can learn to write effective copy.

In this module you will learn:

  • Why if you cannot tell stories you'll struggle to attract clients
  • The single most powerful word in copywriting that many coaches are unaware of
  • How to write copy and maintain your own voice
